This app was created to make Welsh history accessible and engaging. We hope this timeline offers an intuitive way to explore and learn our history.
Yes. Hanes is fully bilingual, available in both English and Cymraeg. You can change the language at any time in Settings.
There are three ways to explore the timeline:
When you tap on an event, you can view either a full detailed article or a brief summary. You can choose your preference during setup, or change it later in Settings under "Article type".

If you have previously purchased Premium and need to restore it (e.g. on a new device), go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases". Your purchase will be restored automatically.
Purchases are processed through Google Play (or the App Store). Refund requests should be directed to the respective store. Hanes Cymru does not process payments directly.
Browse to an event in the timeline and tap the heart icon to save it. You can view all your saved favourites from the main menu.
With Premium, you can add personal events to the timeline using the "My History" feature in the main menu. Tap the + button, enter a title, description, and start year (with an optional end year), and your event will appear on the timeline.
Go to Settings and tap "Timeline customisation". From there you can choose which historical events to show or hide on your timeline.
Go to Settings and tap "Theme". You can choose between Light, Dark, or System default (which follows your device settings).
Go to Settings and tap "Refresh timeline" to download the latest data. This requires an internet connection.
This means the app cannot reach the Hanes API. Please check your internet connection and try again. You can also try refreshing the timeline from Settings.
All your data (settings, favourites, personal events) is stored locally on your device. You can delete it by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app. If you have Premium and wish to delete your purchase record, you can request this from the Account section in Settings.
